Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with Honey Barbeque Sauce

The Honey Barbeque Sauce can also be used as a BBQ sauce for pork, chicken or beef on the barbeque.

Ingredients

2 cups sliced onions
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp Clabber Girl Corn Starch
4 lbs pork shoulder
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cinnamon
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 tbsp brown sugar
2 cups tomato juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup honey
2 cups ketchup
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp dry mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp celery salt
1/2 tsp soy sauce
Honey BBQ Sauce:
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 cup vinegar
Pulled Pork:
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tbsp pepper

Directions

Pulled Pork:

Place 1 cup sliced onions on the bottom of slow cooker; add pork, garlic, salt, pepper, water and remaining 1 cup sliced onions. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or 4 to 5 hours on HIGH heat setting.

Drain liquid from slow cooker; chop the meat coarsely and discard excess fat. Put the pork back in the slow cooker; cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours. Stir occasionally.

Honey BBQ Sauce:

In a large sauce pan or stock pot sauté onion and garlic in oil for two minutes, stirring constantly. Add rest of ingredients and stir until well combined. Cook over low heat for 2 hours.

Serve pork on toasted split buns with Honey Barbeque Sauce alongside.
