Peanut butter and oatmeal are combined to make this super dense cookie. Make sure you have milk on hand to serve with these oatmeal cookies!

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 C. chopped walnuts, optional
1 cup rolled oats
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 375° F. Cream together shortening and peanut butter. Mix brown sugar and white sugar and add to shortening gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Combine egg and milk and add to mixture. Fold in rolled oats. Stir together flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and salt and add to peanut mixture. Fold in walnuts, if using. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet and bake 12-15 minutes.
