If you enjoy this summer-time favorite, making your own corn dogs can be a lot of fun and so delicious!

Ingredients

2/3 cup yellow corn meal
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
Corn meal to roll hot dogs in
1 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
Oil for frying
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cayenne
1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
10 hot dogs
1 egg
10 wooden skewers (can also use popsicle sticks)
2 tbsp oil

Directions

Mix all ingredients for batter in order with a whisk in large bowl. Insert skewers in hot dogs and roll in dry cornmeal. Heat oil in a large wok or cast iron skillet to about 375 F. Dip hot dogs in batter and place in heated oil. Fry a couple of corn dogs at a time until they are lightly browned. Drain on paper towels.
