1 cup butter or shortening
3 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups white sugar
powdered sugar (for dusting)
3 cups all-purpose flour
Heat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease one 13 x 9-inch rectangular pan or two 8-inch square pans. Mix sugar and flour together. Cut the butter into the flour and sugar until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture as crumbs for top of cake. To the remaining flour mixture stir in the Clabber Girl Baking Powder, eggs, milk, and vanilla and mix well. Pour batter into prepared pan. To the reserved crumb mixture, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 F for about 45 minutes (35 minutes if using two 8-inch round cake pans) or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Dust cooled cake with powdered sugar.
