Buffalo Fried Pickles

Directions

  1. Heat about 2 inches of Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening in a heavy bottomed pot until temperature reaches 375 degrees F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, Clabber Girl Baking Powder, water, buffalo sauce, salt and black pepper. The consistency should be that of a batter. Add more water or flour to desired consistency.
  3. In batches, add dried pickles to the batter and coat completely. Gently remove from batter using a fork or slotted spoon and place in shortening once it has reached 375 degrees F.
  4. Fry the pickles for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown then remove from shortening and place on a paper towel lined, plate. Make sure the temperature of the shortening stays consistent throughout frying and repeat until all pickles are fried.
  5. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
