Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and spray with nonstick spray, such as Baker’s Joy® Nonstick Spray with Flour; set aside.
Melt the shortening and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs and molasses until well blended.
Pour the milk mixture into the dry mixture and blend.
Pour the melted shortening into the bowl and stir until thoroughly incorporated.
Pour into the prepared pan.
Sprinkle the turbinado sugar over the top, if using.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
