3/4 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup butter (softened)
1/2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup raisins
10 oz cinnamon applesauce (by weight)
1 cup walnuts (chopped)
1/2 tsp ground allspice
2 (8 oz cream cheese packages (softened)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
Apple Spice Bars Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Prepare a 13 X 9-inch pan by spraying with cooking spray or lining with parchment paper.In a bowl mix 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup butter and 1 egg. Blend until creamy then add 2 cups flour, 10 oz applesauce, 1/2 tsp allspice, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp cloves, 3/4 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Soda, 1/2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder and 1/2 tsp salt. Once mix is combined, add 3/4 cup raisins and 1 cup nuts then fold into mixture until reaching even distribution. Spoon batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely then frost (optional). Cream Cheese Frosting Preparation: In a medium bowl, cream together 16 oz cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter until smooth. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar with vanilla and mix until completely incorporated. Store frosting in the refrigerator after use.
