How was the decision made to eliminate testing for peanut proteins and peanut-free logo?

Consumer research was conducted with consumers impacted directly by a peanut and/or nut allergy. Only 1/3 of survey respondents read baking powder labels. Most shoppers participating in the study were concerned about finished baked products, significantly more than the baking powder as an ingredient. Most considered “product made in a nut-free facility” as a product safe to purchase.
