Do you have some favorite baking memories? Maybe you have a recollection of baking with mother or grandma, or perhaps a yearly cookie baking party at Christmas time?
We have had many letters throughout the years telling us of favorite memories with mom using Clabber Girl Baking Powder. The familiar kitchen scene on the can always seems to make people want to reminisce.
Please list any and all of your favorite baking memories!

I remember seeing my mom cooking all day for thankgsiving
that was one time she never let anybody in the kichen! one year we took a picture of her in her housecoat in the kitchen with all of the food around her. it was almost done and she opened her mouth to tell us to get out and thats when we took the photo. we all laughed and I still have a picture of her standing there
she finally let us help after we were old enough. the one recipe she made better than anyone was biscuits. i never could make them like mom could and she said that she could neber make them as good as her mom. we all had Clabber Girl baking powder though
My Mom used make pie dough using a recipe that she got out of a clabber girl cook book many many years ago. Since her death in 2004 we have not had a pie crust like she used to make. I have the cook book but the page with the recipe is missing.I know that she used lard for her pie dough. Does anyone have the recipe.
Thanks,
Cyndie
I remember waiting for my husbands granmother to arrive at our home with all her home made pies, cakes and cookies. The joy she would have presenting this to our family when she would visit us over 20 years ago. I remember Clabber Girl peeking out of her cabinet in her small Benton County home. The love that surrounded her food will never be forgotten
One of my favorite holiday memories is helping my mother with the pies. Our favorite was the dark ‘n sweet chocolate pie made by royal cook ‘n serve pudding. I carried on the tradition in my own family. My chocolate pies were always better because they were dark chocolate. Unfortunately I cannot find the dark ‘n sweet cook ‘n serve pudding ANYWHERE! I would think now that people are finally realizing the health benefits of dark chocolate that this pudding would be available. Please, Please if anyone knows where I can find this pudding let me know! And if Clabber Girl can re-distribute this in the New England States, many of us dark chocolate lovers would be eternally grateful, as well as restoring a very special part of our holiday memories! Pam from Vermont
Has anyone located the Royal Dark n Sweet Chocolate Pudding in New Jersey or Florida, or anywhere on line where I don’t have to purchase 24 boxes. Thanks
Thanksgiving always seems to be remembered by all the different pie desserts. Besides pumpkin, I think the cream pies are by far the favorite. Home made pie crust a thing of the past? Ha! Made my own this year. I used ice water in the mix to keep the shortening from mixing in too much. You need little bits of it to melt in order to have a flakey crust…too much handling of the dough, and it just “rubs” in.
To answer Pamela about the Royal Chocolate pie filling – Clabber Girl only makes the Foodservice size puddings and cheesecake mixes. The Jelsert company makes consumer sizes. Sorry for the confusion…I know, they are so good I wish we made consumer size…
I too, make my own pie crusts. My sister
taught me about forty years ago.
Instead of ice water, try using orange juice instead, and enjoy a wonderful tender crust.
About 30-40 years ago, my mom used a recipe from a small booklet that came with the Rumford Baking Powder can. The recipe is for Italian Fruit Cookies, and some of the ingredients are cherries, pineapple, walnuts…does anyone happen to have the little booklet that I remember and/or the recipe for the fruit cookies that it contained? My mom will be 73 next month and I would love to bake these for her birthday. Thank you!

Looking for a cooked Icing my Mom used when making my Coconut Birthday cake back in the late 40′s & 50′s. It was like a hard glaze which she then threw the coconut on & it stuck. Anyone who can help me? Thanks Carolyn
I remember my Mom baking on the holidays and she used to have extra dough. She would make the best cinnamon rolls with the dough..I can almost smell them now. My sister, Connie and I were always so excited when she made those wonderful cinnamon rolls and who was going to get the first one!
